| Abstract |
Emperor Charles V was born in Ghent on 24 February 1500 (at the Prinsenhof). After being declared of age on Janary 5, 1515, he became Lord of various parts of the Low Countries. In this paper the author concentrates on the significance of Charles V for his native lands, the Low Countries or 'Netherlands', and especially on his importance in the area of civil procedure. |
